National Director of Multicultural Alpha
National Coordinator for Alpha for Latinos and Puerto Rico
José Garrigó is currently serving as the multicultural coordinator for Alpha USA and the National Advisor for Spanish Speakers and all Latino Communities. A member of the Hispanic Community and a Cuban-American, José worked as a bi-vocational missionary in Spain for sixteen years. He holds a Master in Divinity degree from Denver Seminary. His goal is to help the Spanish-speaking churches in the United States to use the Alpha Course as an effective and modern tool for evangelism. José is partnering with the Denver Seminary Spanish program to train their students in how to use the Alpha Course.

Lisa Smith serves as Alpha USA's National Coordinator for Alpha ESOL ( Alpha in English for speakers of other languages). She partners with ministries and churches located all across the United States and lives in the greater Boston area. She has served with the ministry of Alpha for the past 11 years at her home church Grace Chapel and is passionate about helping people from all cultures and backgrounds explore Christianity in a safe and loving environment. Lisa feels especially called to those who are disenfranchised or fed up with religion, and those who find themselves on the fringes of society.
National Coordinator of Alpha for Asian-Americans/Koreans
Regional Director for Northern California
Rev. Jake Kim has a passion to reach first and second generation Asian-Americans with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In particular, Jake is developing regional teams for Alpha in Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese across the United States. In the rapidly growing area of Alpha in Chinese, Jake is working with Lin Wang, the National Coordinator for Alpha in Chinese to reach the Chinese community in the United States and abroad. As a pastor experienced in English Speaking Pan-Asian-American Ministries, he is also working to equip second generation leaders with Alpha to reach younger generations. He is also working on strategic partnerships with Alpha in other countries and missionary sending agencies to spread the US version of Alpha for ESOL overseas.
National Coordinator of Alpha in Portuguese
Lon and Carmen Torman
Carmen Torman is the National Advisor for Portuguese speakers. Lon and Carmen Torman have been married for 36 years and live in Orlando, Florida. They have three adult daughters. Lon was born and raised in a Jewish family and came to faith in Jesus as an adult. Carmen was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and grew up in a Christian home, both her mother and father were pastors. While the Torman family was living in London, in 2001, Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) became their church. Lon and Carmen felt the Lord calling them to gather speakers of Portuguese living in London, and lead groups of Portuguese speakers within the Alpha course at HTB. Upon returning to Orlando in 2003, they started the Alpha course at their home church and have, since then, helped several churches in Central Florida launch the Alpha course.
National Coordinator of Alpha for Ukrainians and Russians
Andrey joins Alpha USA as the National Advisor of Alpha for Ukrainians and Russians. Andrey is currently working on his MA in Evangelism and Leadership at Wheaton College. Andrey and his wife, Irina, are proud parents of Gracie Abigail. His family lives in West Chicago and attends Ukrainian Christian Church in Bensonville, IL where Andrey occasionally teaches Sunday mornings.
National Coordinator for Alpha in Chinese
Lin serves Alpha USA as the National Advisor for Alpha in Chinese.Her focus will be to equip and support Chinese leaders and churches who are seeking to launch Alpha in Chinese courses.Lin was born in Shanghai, China and has years of Alpha experience.
She and her husband Tony Huang live at State College, in PA near Penn State. Together, they are facilitating the Alpha course at State College Chinese Alliance church. They enjoy reading, traveling, exercising, and hanging out with friends in their free time.
