"This event had exactly the reaction that we wanted. We had 12 adults and 2 kids, raised about $6,800, donated $234 to the cause of Peace in the Raleigh area, kept us from spending any money to make money, and proved that Team Alpha is a fun, community-building and effective way to raise funds for the Alpha Invitation and our regions!

 

I can’t tell you how many people asked about Alpha. The volunteers were shouting, “Go Team Alpha!” at every water station. I dropped off 3 Alpha info packs for the priests at the Catholic church that was hosting the race! Then, Kelly and I wore our shirts to an Arts fair in my hometown after the race. Everyone was asking, "What is Alpha?" and I had the chance to share with several of the vendors as I was looking at their wares. We should wear these shirts everywhere!

 

The red T-shirt is very identifiable in a crowd so our team found each other easily. Not having a date on the shirts means that we can wear them in future events without any further expense. The lettering is really large so people really can read what the shirt says and it also demands that someone asks – What is Alpha?

 

Everyone is excited to do this again in the fall and get more folks involved!"
